Drivers of used Vauxhalls may have been among the people who voted the Lotus Carlton as the manufacturer's best ever car.
In a recent website poll, the model beat off competition from other favourites like the Calibra and Cavalier.
When it was first released, the Lotus Carlton was the fastest four-door production car in the world.
It had a top speed of 176 mph and could hit 62 mph in 5.4 seconds.
Commenting on the car, the website said: "The Lotus Carlton was a technical tour de force for Vauxhall and garnered immense press respect for its power, performance and dynamics."
In regards to more recent Vauxhalls, the Monaro was named the best model from the last five years.
Powered by a 5.7-litre engine and launched in 2004, the vehicle was described as a "rear-wheel drive muscle car".
In other news which may be of interest to buyers of used cars, Vauxhall has announced it will be passing on the 2.5 per cent VAT cut to its customers.
