Fans of the VW range of used cars might like to know the Jetta has received an award for its environmental excellence.
The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Clean Diesel has been named as the 2009 Green Car of the Year by the Green Car Journal.
It was bestowed upon the car at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
VW says the Jetta uses a two-litre four cylinder common rail TDI engine, that produces 140 PS and 320 Nm (236 lbs ft) of torque at 1,750 rpm.
Nitrogen oxide emissions have been vastly reduced with the aid of two modifications to the Clean Diesel.
Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, said: "The highly fuel-efficient, 50 state emissions-certified Jetta TDI shows that advanced clean diesel has arrived and is poised to change this dynamic."
VW states the Jetta is "packed with features".
Motorists who like the green pedigree of the VW could find a range to choose from at their car supermarket.
