According to the manufacturer, the C 180 Kompressor BlueEfficiency replaces the exiting model and there will be no increase in the on the road price. BlueEfficiency is the name Mercedes has given to a variety of measures designed to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions. The manufacturer claimed the C180 Kompressor offers 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, despite the fact there has been a 199 cc reduction in deplacement. Meanwhile, fuel efficiency has been improved by up to 11 per cent and a manual saloon offers 44.8 mpg. In addition CO2 emissions have been cut to 149 g/km. This particular model will not be available to used Mercedes customers for a few years. However, in the meantime, they can pick up a 2005 C220 2.2 CDi Classic SE for less than £7,500.
